Thanks for stopping by. Miscelaney, the blog, is my pet project and my true love (even though I’ve ignored it for the past year). I launched Miscelaney in June ’09 in an effort to stay relevant when I lost my job due to the suck economy. Since then, it’s been a wild ride and I’ve ended up in places I’d never thought I would be, due in partly, to the blog.
A little about this blog…..My approach for this blog is the same as my approach to life…to be involved with any and all that interests me…all at the same time without over-thinking it (and yes, some could say possibly under-thinking it). My vision is to pull content from the amazing network of people I’ve met along the way and create an engaging, hopefully entertaining and occasionally useful site for you to hang your hat several times a week.
As background, my last name is LANE (for all of those Type A’s out there, the custom spelling of miscellany is intentional). My “professional” background ranges from the publishing industry, to design, to wine, to non-profit work (my small yet unsuccessful attempt at saving the world), to tinkering with Playdough and jello blocks while molding the youthful minds of other people’s children. A marketeer by trade, I still try to keep my fingers in a variety cool projects on the side.
I currently live in Seattle..most recently in Kirkland. A bonafide caffeine addict since ’98, I still am officially proudly a Californian, even after everything.
