Schoolhouse Rock

by Heather Paper A friend of mine, a third-grade teacher, was recently lamenting that school will be starting in just a few days. Call me crazy, but I’m just a little bit envious. Each year at this time, I watch moms and kids storm the stores to stock up on fresh school supplies. And I find [...]

Be A Grillin’ Villain…and get skinny, too!

Summer is finally here and I’m loving chillin’ at home and being a grillin’ villain (nothing like a new bbq to get you in the cooking grilling spirit). Being a relatively newbie on the grilling front, I’m constantly on the lookout for fun recipes to try on the Q. Came across this article from Men’s [...]

Earl’s Summertime Elixir

Since summer has FINALLY sprung here in the Northwest, thought I’d share a simple, yet really refreshing concoction to cool your simmering brain:  Earl’s Summertime Elixir   Courtesy of my Dad    per glass recipe–adjust to taste -1-2 parts of your favorite rum (quality) -3 parts bottled water (flat, but you can mix it up by using fizzy) -1 part good ice (ie. buy at [...]

The New Necessory

I found myself stranded in Issaquah the other day and did the only sane thing a girl could do to pass the time: eat and shop. ICandy For Your Ipad

Admit it. It's only a matter of time before each and every one of us shells out the clams for anIpad. Why? Because they are SO cool none of us can stand it. And once you do lay out them greenbacks, you need to keep your techno-crack-pad investment safe

Chocolate Heaven

I’ve always said “design is my life.” And, til now, that’s always referred to interior design. But I’ve found a new creative outlet in Chocri, where I can design my own chocolate. Be still my beating heart!

European Treasures

Even if the economy (and a shortage of frequent flyer miles) has put the kibosh on traveling to Europe anytime soon, you can still enjoy one of the best aspects: the souvenirs. When I’m traveling via armchair, one of the places I like to start is ...

The Wine Coat

Now I ask you, how truly SWEET is this?!? This arrived in my Facebook account today from a friend with a note which simply read "new purse for Vicki". Designed to work with the bladder of boxed wine (now now, don't get all hoity-toity on me now, there are some fairly decent boxed wines out there these days), you simply take the wine bag out of the box and slide it into the Wine Coat.

Pain Au Chocolat

You know those little gems you stumble upon from time to time that you make you seriously question how you ever possibly existed prior to said discovery? If you are any sort of a pastry fan (even if you aren't), you are going to LOVE ME.
