Eatin’ It Up

Although design is my life—at least writing about it—all things culinary are my favorite pastimes. I love to cook as much as I love to eat, and read cookbooks cover-to-cover like novels. What’s more, certain chefs are as much rock stars to me as musicians are to my hubby. (Any other Top Chef fans out there? Go Kevin Gillespe!)

The Dough Boy and The Insinkerator

...but I must caution you, if you are intersted in making/serving an everyday "crescent roll" for Thanksgiving which is predictably good, quick, and expected, I suggest that you stop reading this post, find the dough boy in the refrigerated section, and carry on about your day.

My Beautiful Obsession

For the record: Yes, my last name is Paper and, yes, I am a writer. But no, it isn’t—pardon the pun—a “pen” name. It’s a little ironic, however, that I’ve always had an obsession with beautiful paper goods. Notecards, stationary, journals, you name it; I’ve spent years collecting stunning specimens. My husband calls it hoarding but, hey, tomato/tomatoe.

Stuff-itus, is there a cure?

Stuff. Such a simple word, yet so loaded with complexities. Merriam-Webster defines stuff as our personal property. We are socially groomed from the time we receive our first meaningful toy that not only is there value in having "stuff", but it's worth protecting, too.

A Mondrian Wanna-Be

Embrace Your Inner Fabulousness.

Who doesn't need a little Sex [and the City] in our everyday? An occasional dose of fah-bu-lous can be just what the doctor ordered. So does this mean we have to go spend $500 on a pair of shoes that we can't afford ...

californi-fake-ation?

I had a star(e)-off with David Duchovny just now. Well, a stare-off with my computer screen with his handsome, smirking self, gloating back at me. Funny thing, he never blinked. Regardless, we had a moment. Unconventional-yes, insane-no.

Miscelaney = A Mixture of Everything

Welcome to Miscelaney, the blog. This being the inaugural post, I'll do some 'splainin. With a last name of Lane, and the idea I wanted to create a collection of all things interesting (to me at least) and semi-relevant topics, the end result is where you find yourself at right now--my blog.
