The other evening I hot-footed it over the bridge to Seattle's south of downtown's district to catch some live music. It got me thinking about all of the great places to catch live music in these parts that aren't necessarily on my radar. I decided to build a refresher list based on recent new finds, places I've forgotten about and/or peer feedback.
Kitten's delight for the unexpected festivities spiked when five rough-and-tumble cowboys busted through the party gates, guns-a-blazing, looking suspiciously like Wyatt, Virgil and Morgan Earp, Doc Holiday, and some cowpoke's name I don't recall (Wild Bill Hickock, maybe?). Yes indeedy, these wild shooters rode up from Tombstone for the evening, just to help Kitten (the biggest Tombstone fan ever known to man) celebrate in dusty, old western, Arizona style.
One (typically) sunny weekend each summer, Seattlites are treated to the sheer grace and impressive fluidity of precision flying performed by the Blue Angels. Every year, the first weekend of August brings locals and visitors alike an unforgettable air show during annual Seafair activities.

Last fall me and mi compadre had the very good fortune of spending a week at Pueblo Bonito, Emerald Bay, just a 20 minute (hotel) shuttle ride down the beach from Mazatlan. A blend of old-style villas and scenic suites which are infused with all of the modern comforts you'd expect from any upscale resort. This place is a dream.
Austin, Texas, the cultural mecca of the Lone Star state. And really, the only place to live in Teejah if you find yourself needing to live in a state which has its own power grid.
Being the eastsider I am, I’m trying to do eastside things. How embracing of me. Last night was my first ever concert at Marymoor Park in lovely Redmond. The players: Counting Crows and Augustina. The gig: The Saturday Night Rebel Rockers Traveling Circus and Medicine Show. Overall, it was a pretty crowstastic* evening.
Weather-wise, it was one [...]
...back to Portland and The Nines. I'm doing you a solid here. Check out The Nines the next time you are in P-town. For a drink, a bite, a place to lay your head, or even for a quick elevator ride, you are going to be glad you did.
It’s finally summer and time to capitalize on the reason why we suffer the winters here year after year. Washington State still takes me breathe away, even after 11 years. There is SO much to do outdoors.
Thus, our inaugural summer camping trip was going to take us to places afar and anew. Decided to try [...]
